Hello everyone, my name is Dominik Kulicki (Screen Name: polkapool). I started playing poker when I moved to Amsterdam for my studies. It took a while before I really got hooked on the game but once I received some poker books for my birthday I was able to start developing my game. Back then I was mainly playing Limit Hold'em cash games and Sit & Go's. After reading the Harrington on Hold'em Tournament books I shifted my game to tournaments and achieved some great results:
2007
Dom Classics - 1st place in the €200 1 rebuy 1 add-on limit event for €18,463
Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza - 3rd place in the $560 Freezeout for $25,000
World Series of Poker - 47th place in a $1,500 Freezeout for $14,409
2008
World Series of Poker - 7th place in a $2,000 Freezeout for $81,943
World Series of Poker - 234th place in the $10,000 Main Event for $35,383
2009
Poker vierdaagse Nijmegen - 1st place in the 700 Euro Main Event for €35,525
World Series of Poker - 6th place in a $1,500 limit event for $31,324
World Series of Poker - 261th place in the $10,000 Main Event for $32,963
In the following years I mainly focused on playing cash games. Aside from playing poker I have also been a strategy writer for the Dutch Pokernews.nl site, and I have written two strategy series. One series describes strategies on playing qualifier tournaments and the other series discusses the psychology behind poker on a personal level. The articles are written in Dutch and can be read at http://nl.pokernews.com/editors/dominik-kulicki/
What I like most about Poker is that I get to meet a lot of great people. It provides me with freedom and gives me the opportunity to travel quite extensively. Despite playing poker I am happy to say that I finished my studies. I have obtained a double MSc degree in Business Administration and Innovation Management at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. I am thrilled to say that I am now part of Poker770 team and will do everything I can to win big for the team. Cheers!
