Jamel Maistriaux

Jamel Maistriaux was born on 28 July in Charleroi in Belgium.

The young computer technician recently joined Team770 and is delighted by the welcome he received from his fellow members.

Since the very beginning, the young Belgian has been a great fan of Poker770 tables. A newcomer to the game, Jamel started out 3 years ago playing online low stake games. By doing that for just a few years, he gained enough experience to take the plunge and give the live tournament circuit a go.

His first major competition also proved to be his first great achievement: On home soil, Jamel won the 2007 Belgian Championship in Spa and won €300,000 as well as the title! His career as a pro poker player took off from that point on.

Jamel Maistriaux spent another year looking into all the greatest international competitions and made some fine choices.
In June 2008, he went to Las Vegas to take part in a series of tournaments with one eye on the WSOP and produced a magnificent performance. Out of the 6 competitions that he took part in, he finished in the money four times, finishing 23rd out of over 2,300 players in one of these events!

Jamel continued to progress and finished in 6th place in the €200 No Limit Hold'em in the Irish Winter Festival in October 2008. The game was even more fascinating as the 2007 Belgium Champion found himself at the final table next to Pascal Perrault, another Team770 member.

A recent phenomenal performance saw Jamel finish 5th in a side event with 250 players in the most recent Deauville EPT, picking up €12,000 for his troubles.

Jamel has a promising future with Team770 and will show off his skills in all the upcoming international poker events!
